WHAT DO I DO! Belly button piercing gone bad?
Okay, I got my bellybutton pierced a few days ago ( like a week ago)
I have been using this spray stuff that the piercer gave me, my belly button is red though.
But keep in mind that I clean my belly button 6 times a day :), is that too much though?
Like, should I start using that soap stuff... and keep using the spray?
But my belly button is red :(
I don't know if its infected, but like think about it obviously should be red right.. cause I just got a pin shoved through it.. right.. :(
I really don't want it to be cause my dad doesn't know :s , and I live with him.. which means he has my health card.
So, can someone just give me advice :P :)
    THANK YOU (L):)

Over cleaning can be bad for it. How many times did the piercer say to use the spray? Probably 2-3 times a day is enough. If its red but doesn't hurt your probably fine.
If you still have problems you should heat up a cup of water and add sea salt to it. Put that over the piercing for 10 minutes. That's another good way to make sure its clean. Too much cleaning can be bad for it though.

The spray you are using is probably h2ocean. I personally do not recommend this product as it contains sodium which is very drying to your piercing.

Cleaning your piercing 6 times a day is entirely too much, this is probably why your piercing is red. Is it severely swollen, or discharging a green or yellow substance? If not, its probably not infected, just irritated from being cleaned so often.

Clean the piercing twice a day with antibacterial soap. Make sure before you ever touch your piercing that your hands are clean. Dirty hands can cause problems. When it comes to the sea salt, I always say to each his own, but I personally do not use or recommend it. It can highly irritate your piercing.

Of course, the fact that it is a fresh piercing could also be the reason for the redness. Remember that a piercing is a wound, so redness and discomfort are to be expected. Good luck with it in the future! :)

I Also had my belly button pierced (for the second time) last week and I have been using a pinch of salt in a shot glass of pre heated water I then dab that dry and add an ointment of 5% tea tree oil in almond oil... I do this 2-3 times a day because cleaning it too much prevents your body from naturally cleaning the and healing the wound itself... at the moment my belly is red and quite sore so I actually went into the parlour where I had it pierced and they took a look at it and changed my bar for a longer one due to the redness and swellin being caused my me having a too short bar... this could be a reason for your redness... I wouldn't worry too much just yet lol because it won't heal in a week it will be sore for a good 2 weeks and won't heal properly for a few months if you clean it sensibly.. I hope this helps and good luck with your piercing :-)
