Shoplifting, Singapore Mustafa Centre $20 item
I was arrested for shoplifting in singapore. I have an employment pass. That had put me under offence 380 ch 244. I have shoplift a $20 item from Mustafa Centre. What would be the consequences, I have a clean record and first time offender. I am very much disturbed because of living in a different kind of country for the first time all alone. I am around 30. I am on station Bail with personal bond. I have deposited my passport to police station. They released me on bail for two week. Two weeks already completed and they told me that investigation is still under process. They will call me once investigaton completed. I feel because of X-mas leave and etc my process is very slow. Please suggest me why they are taking so much time. How they will call me through phone or letter.

I may be wrong but I believe when you are convcted in Singapore for the smallest infraction you get a caning. Maybe you need to hire an attorney.

Yes, they have some serious punishments there, if you have not contacted your nations embassy as to legal representation, and help.
