The onion is PURPLE!


How come its called Red :(

This always bothered me but if there's a real reason I would like to know! Haha.

I love purple onions though. They taste so good. Especially with Balsamic vinegar, anywhoo.


Are they called Red for a reason?

Probably because they're not white or yellow.. And it flows slightly better to say red onion than purple onion.
But, actually, I've seen them look closer to red than purple.

You reall think so? Hm.. maybe its maroon o.O

I agree with capin, esp. when they are diced or cut up to me they look more red.
