I have an older TV, and just got the Dish Network w. DVR hooked up at my house; however, I cannot figure out how to hook up my DVD player. The Dish Network Manual did not cover this topic. Help! Thanks.

Helen,
A DVR is a Digital Video Recorder. It should have two input lines and one output line.
If you already have a DVR, you do not have to use it anymore. The DVR uses and internal hard drive to store programs up to a max of programs. The max is directly determined by the size of the internal hard drive and the format of the programming. Programs broadcast in High Def are any where from 2 to three times larger than standard formatted programs.
The DVR will also allow you to watch a program while recording another program. If you want to permanently record and watch a program, connect the output of the Dish Controller to the Input of the DVD recorder. The out of the Recorder goes to the IN of the TV.
