Why is my carpet getting wet areas?
Why is my carpet having wet areas? One of my house rooms beside the bathroom has a damp, smelly wet area by the corner.

Flooding perhaps? Is the room adjacent to the bathroom or a wall near an exterior gutter or downspout?
I don't know where you live, nor what your weather has been like.
You could have a leaky roof?

This could be caused by a number of reasons. Is there a shower near the wall? Have you opened the access plate and checked the bathtub drainage? Is the moisture more when showering? In short, give us more details. Regards, tom,

Might be someone taking a shower and drying off in that area, but I'd be more inclined to think the pets, or a leaking pipe in one of the walls... all guesses of course.
