Water is leaking around one of the bolts holding the water tank in place. I need to flip it over to see if there is a crack in the tank. I am having trouble disconnecting the water supply line from the wall. My DIY handbooks show the supply line connected with a regular bolt. We do not have a bolt connecting the bendable hose. And I honestly do not know what this thing is or how to describe it. Any ideas what other methods besides bolts connect supply lines, or how to disconnect it?

Most toilet supply lines connect with nuts, not bolts. Typically you have an angle stop connected to a pipe in the wall either by pipe thread or a compression fitting. You then have a short line connected to the stop by a compression fitting and the toilet by a nut holding the flanged end of the tubing to the bottom of the fill valve. Even if you don't have the standard angle stop and compression joint, you should be able to remove the line by removing the upper nut.

If that doesn't work, give us a better description of what you have, or better yet, a picture.

Shut the water off and follow the chrome tube up to a nut on the bottom of the tank. Unscrew this nut counterclockwise and you nhave disconnected the tank supply. BUT WAIT6! If all you bhave is water leaking past the tank bolts perhaps all they need is to be snugged up. Snug up the tank bolts leaving about 1/4" of play,(rock) in the tank.
