Coleman 7900 series mobile home heating unit
I have a 1987 Coleman 7900 series heating unit that seams to work until it kicks off before reaching the temp set on the thermostat, leaving the pilot extinguished as well. The blower continues to run for a few minutes and then shuts off. Now because the pilot is no longer lit the unit cannot restart, therefore isn't working.

When was the last time your furnace was professionally serviced?
Your furnace is 20 years old and some Coleman furnaces are known for having bad heat exchangers so yours should be checked.

A few different items can cause what you are describing. The pilot orifice could be partially restricted (spider webs do this) causing a outage of the pilot when the main gas shuts down.

Your high limit control could be defective causing a shut down or the temperature is getting to high in the furnace because of lack of air movement.

Make sure your air filters are clean and OPEN all floor registers in the mobile home. Mobile home heat systems are very restricted (high static)duct wise and closing off registers adds to the problem.

It could even a weak thermocouple could cause this problem but not likely.
