What is this lump underneath my armpit?
OK I'm a 13 year old girl. A few weeks ago I noticed a lump the size of a quarter on my armpit I noticed it because it was slightly painful its not hard and its high in the armpit its skin colored and every once in a while it kind of burns a little I got it while I was on vacation, and you can see it, you don't have to feel it I don't think its in the armpit maybe its an infection I'm not sure please helpppp!! What is it I'm scared and whatever it is should I go see a doctor and is it dangerous? To Fr Chuck do you think this is dangerous, and I thought boils were pinkish colored?

Bumps can be all sorts of things, and often in that area it may be nothing but a boil but even if we were doctors, without a proper exame it is hard to say what it is. You need to show it to your parents and first let them decide what needs to be done.

Hey ummm I thought that boils were pinkish redish ? Mines skin colored I think its an infection because I was on vacation and I used a disposable shaver on my armpits and maybe it wasn't sharp enough so it may have like opened the skin or something a little and them maybe my deoderant infected my skin ? Do you think that may be it?

Okay, hun, it is not a good idea to go back and edit your original post, it just causes confusion.

Understand that we are only guessing here. There is no way to adequately diagnose you over the internet.

This could be something very simple such as a swollen lymph node, that was the reason I asked you if you have been ill recently. It could be an ingrown hair... It could be any number of things really, but to have it diagnosed properly you need to see your doctor.
