    Wireless in Europe(Greece)
Does Europe share the same wireless standards as the U.S.. My brother in law wants to buy a laptop here in the states and be able to access hot spots in Greece.

    Thanks Rich

This is true, but I know there are some frequencys that aren't allowed in the US that ARE in other places. By that, I mean, you can set a wireless access point or wireless router to use a certain channel. Some of the channels you can't set in the US because the frequencies are restricted. I would think that a wireless card would be able to pick up the channel, but there's no guarantee.

It seems like they would use more standard channels in public hotspots, so I doubt he would have any problems with it.
