Set up Dish 2 channel box to record on one channel?
Hi
I think that I understand this but I want to ask if my I have gotten is right.
I am getting a dual channel Dish box.
I currently have my single channel Dish box hooked up to a Sony DMR EZ27 DVD recorder.
I have the Main (the shielded single cable) video output going from the Dish box directly to the TV, and the RCA type adapters (3 wires L audio, R audio and video cable) going into the recorder and then from there to the video connections on the TV.
The audio cables run from the back of my TV (Audio Out) to my amplifier.
When I switch back and forth from TV to Video mode I can switch from what is playing on TV to what the DVD player is playing at the same time.
What I want to do is replace my single channel Dish box with a 2 channel one.
Am I right that if I simply run the RCA type cables from the channel 2 connections on the new Dish box to the recorder, I will be able to switch to Video mode and start recording channel 2, then switch back to TV mode and watch another program on channel 1 while the first is recorded?
This sound simple to me is there more to it then I think?
