Me and my husband were having a hard time when we first got married and in the first two months we were married my husband cheated and then we decided to work it out and then this girls told him that she was pregnant so now he is 3 and we have to go to court to see about getting sole custody and we just want to know what our chances are? We have been married for 4 years since and she is a single mother and he is in the military and we also have a house, she lives in the projects, we have emails from her saying she let her other daughter go with her dad when he was running from the cops and now this3 year old has to get silver teeth in march because she didn't ever brush his teeth and they are rotting, I just would like to know how good of a change he would have of getting custody of him...

If what you say is true and you prove she is unfit, your chances are good.

You have to be able to prove the mother is unfit to care for the child. This is extremely hard to do because no courts want to take a child from their mother.

All you can do is gather information and hire an attorney. We have no way of knowing what a judge will rule.

Fathers getting custody of their children seem to be a very common practice today. However, I do believe children at a young age still need nurturing from their mothers. I think instead of trying to take the child totally away from her mother, the best interest of the child should be first. Try to find out how you and your husband can help the mother get stability and security in her life for the child.

It must be something good about this woman if your husband who is in the military has fathered a child with her.

I don't want to seem harsh, but I can't imagine a life w/o my mother in the early years. We didn't have a lot, but we had Mama. Daddy was Daddy, but Mama is priceless even though she's gone.
