How to remove permanent hair coloring at home
    Dear Sir,Madam:

I need advice on removing a brown hair coloring from my hair. I have washed all the coloring out I can in the last 3 months. And I now have my gray/white hair grown out to about 3 inches from my scalp. I have about 4 inches of hair with the brown color still in my hair yet. I cannot afford a hairdresser to do it for me. I am unemployed and it costs about $150-175 to do color correction at a salon. I need to do this at home. I know there is a risk of damaging my hair, but I am tired of my hair looking so bad with the roots showing so much. I am tired of wearing a hat and sometimes even a wig if I have to go
Somewhere. Not to mention, with winter here now, I need to wear a winter hat instead of baseball cap,as I get sick if I don't wear my winter hat/scarf combination. Please give me some advice on this issue. I will not blame you if anything bad happens to my hair,as it would be my doing not yours. I have been coloring my own hair now for years and never ran into a problem with permanent color like this before. My hair grows slowly,so it will take another 5-6 months before I could have all the tint trimmed out of my hair. I trim it myself every 6 weeks. Christmas is coming up and the hair crayon I have been using does OK, but not very thoroughly. It looks like a tube of lipstick, and you rub it on the hair roots. My gray/white hair still shows through it. Please help if you can. I would appreciate
    Any advice you can give.

    Thank You,

Ma'am, I will need you to answer a couple questions in order for me to help you. Do you want to go gray? What is your desired hair color?
