I currently have a loud and persistent vibration in my house that apparently was caused by my water pipe (I want done to basement and can feel with my hand that the vibration is mainly in my cold wafer pipe). The vibration noise will immediately stop if I turn ON any faucet in the house, but will come back with 2-3 seconds after the water is turned off, and it also slowly builds up even if the water were kept running for a while (like a minute or so).

Similar, but short lived (5 to 15 seconds a time) vibration started few weeks ago and it has become frequent. Now the vibration doses not seem to stop. Help!

If you're telling me that the vibration persists after every faucet's turned off and keeps on vibrating then you have a leak somewhare. Pipes don't vibrate unless there's water pressure making it happen. Check the water meter,( if you have one) little pointer. It should not creep with every thing in the houde shut down. If on a pump thenshut it off at the breaker box and watch the pressure gage. It should hold steady and not fall. Let me know, Tom

I turned off the water to put in a new sink in the downstairs bathroom. The change over was a complete success. However, when I turned on the water and happened to flush the toilet... after the water tank filled up... I heard a banging noise and it doesn't go away. I believe I have air in the pipe line. Several times I turned off the main water valve to the house and then turned it on after the pipes have been drained, but the noise continues. How do I stop the banging noise ?

Double check the toilets a lot of vibration occurs when the tank level's too high. Let me know, Tom
