What's going on with my back (not sure if this belongs here or where it belongs)
Two days ago while I was working my back became very itchy and sore. I went and looked at my back in the bathroom and noticed there were raised bumps surrounded in redness all in an area on my back (about the length of a pen cap ) there originally looked to be only three or four bumps. My boyfriend checked my back yesterday for me to see how it was doing since I put aloe (from the actual plant) on it to sooth the itching the day before. Which it did. He seemed half alarmed and said it looked like there were fifteen to twenty small bumps all in an area not three or four. Though the redness around them had gone. I am checking with his mother today to see if she knows what this is. At first I thought it was flea bites. But I have a chinchilla and chinchillas fur is too dense and is different from other animal hair as it does not allow fleas or mites to hold on to it. (did studying up on this to make sure it was true and it is) I was wondering if it could be spider bites. The bumps are very small. Smaller than the eraser of a pencil. About 1/2 that size to be exact. Should I go right to the doctor or should I wait and see if it will clear up. I know its not allergies. Because I am only allergic to "ABC" laundry detergent. And everyone I live with knows this and will not buy it. What do you think?

I am allergic to spider bites and last summer into fall the weather seemed to be ideal for them and I was kept busy with spider webs in the house. I suffered all last summer periodically with raised itchy red bumps only on one particular party of body, all bites localized. However, I didn't have as many as you. It took a week for them to disappear and I kept on swabbing them with alcohol which seemed to be the best thing to take the itch away. If you scratch them they get worse and take longer to go. I guess spiders have a stinger that stays in the skin. I only seemed to get them at night on my hips and thighs, and on my back. I assumed after a while that I had trapped one when rolling over and this was its defence.

I once found a fairly large spider in my laundry basket of clothes ready for washing which seemed to confirm my suspicions. I got in the habit of shaking out my pjs before putting them on.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for spiders in my pj's and my bed. Just in case. Thanks a bunch :D

I think they may be attracted to the warmth at night, bin, that's why we get them in bed between our clothing and skin.God, horrible thought, them looking for more places to lay eggs, yuck!! Hatched spiders are the most crawly disgusting looking little white things!

Hm... I would say that if you aren't running a fever, forget about it and check back in a couple of weeks. Most things just take care of themselves.

If you feel worry, have a physician look at it.

Fever is usually associated with a viral or bacterial infection. So, I wouldn't necessarily "forget about it." It could be an allergy, it could be a bite (as mentioned above), it could literally be a number of things.

But we cannot accurately diagnose via the internet. It takes a person-to-person exam to come to a proper diagnosis.
