    Immigration rules on marriage
My question is,do you have 2 get married in america before you apply for residency for your spouse or if you have a marrige licence from another country, would it be valid 2 apply for residency in america?

No you don't need the U.S. marriage licence. Before issuing the residency to your foreign spouse, the American Consulate in that country will make sure that the marriage and the licence is valid.
