    Girl's period
OK. I need your help with this. My girlfriend is 16 this year and today, she had brown discharge. It has been 3weeks since her last period. We did not have sex. What does this brown discharge mean? Is she pregnant? Or having some illnesses?

Tell your girlfriend to talk to her mom and visit her doctor.

OK normally when you do have this brown stuff I think it is just unclean blood. After some time it might recover. I'm not so sure but I agree you should go and see a doctor

    Fernando,
Any time you have sex, you risk pregnancy. What you described is not enough to indicate that she is pregnant, and brown discharge does not indicate illness either. Brown discharge is common ("old blood") but if it continues and she does not get her regular period, she should contact her GYN.

LAIG is absolutely correct. Anytime there is intercourse, pregnancy is a risk. You say you have not had sex. So I wonder why you would think she would be pregnant.

Brown blood is very common it is considered "old blood" (not unclean blood as mentioned above, as blood is sterile until it comes out of your body). Brown blood usually happens at the beginning or end of a period.

As noted if you did not have sexual intercourse then there shouldn't be a possibility of pregnancy. If that's why you asked rather then just have her see her doctor then that's the answer.
