    Replacing Sub Panel
The hot wire to my new Sub-Panel is now to short. Can or how does one splice additional wire needed to reach mounting point? I'm short by 13 inches.

Thank you in advance for any helpful reply... BRAD

In an accessible junction box outside the panel.

My question would be. How long is the feed from the main to the sub? Are you using copper or alum? What size wire are you currently using?

    Keepitsimple,

You can also splice inside the panel.

    Why outside the panel?

If the feeder cable is long enough to be properly connected to the panel, and only one wire is too short, you may splice with wire to lengthen it inside the panel.

You may use the same size wire of the same material with the same type of insulation and connect both with a split bolt connector, that will need at least two layers of electrical tape, or there are mechanical lugs already pre-insulated.
