Hd TV connections to vcr/dvd combo player
I have a Toshiba 30" flat screen HD tv receiving non HD signals from a cable co.. There is no cable box, just the cable coming thru the wall.
The directions in the owner's manual show the cable hooked directly into the vcr/dvd player then with a 3-wire hook-up (red, yellow, white) from vcr out ports to tv in ports.
I get a good picture, can record one program while watching another, either on vcr or dvd.
Now, I work in a retail store that sells among other things, electonics. My boss laughs at me and tells me I am hooking every thing up wrong.( He calls it "daisey chaining") He says hook the cable directly to the TV port, then with red, yellow, white go from TV component out ports to vcr/dvd.
None of the TV or dvd manuals show this connection.
Who is right and if I do it his way will I still be able to record one program and watch another at the same time?
The boss says his way produces the best possible picture.
Opinions, anyone?
Thanks, Prairie Son:o
