What type of paint did MIRO use?
It was very liquid. He would poor it in large quantities in a bowl especially the black and red. (seen this in documentaries about him) I am not sure but the black seemed a bit like Chinese Ink, could that be it? What about the deep dark red? I think it's the same substance illustrators use... could it just be diluted acrylics?

MIRO painted on glass, so I think it could have been acrylic. You know some of his work now sells for up to l0 million. Apparently his images came to him when sleeping on an empty stomach and when awakening he would draw them out. I am a fan of his work too, but I can't help you, sorry, with the type of material. If you ever find out, let me know.

I just saw at the store today something called Pigmented Ink, and I think this must be it!
I think this is also what cartoon and comic artists use. Not exactly cheap though! :)

I think that acrylics of some kind would be the most likely since the colors would be the boldest.
