Basement Sink/Washer Draining?
I'm about to finish my basement into a living room and extra bedroom. Currently I have a laundry area that needs to be moved. Right now, the washing machine and sink drain into an open floor drain. The floor drain is near the center of the basment and will not be accessible after the basement is finish. (also, I don't think it is "code" to drain into a floor drain) However, near where the new laundry area will be there is a 4 inch vent/drain pipe. The vent goes up through the rook and the drain down into the floor. It serves a 2nd floor bathroom. I'd like to connect to this drain. Near the floor there is an access port, can I use this port? Or does it need to be clear for maintenance? If I can't use the access port, can I cut a section of the pipe out and replace it with a section that has an access for me? I'd like connect the sink this way and just have the washer drain into the sink. The other option is to cut up the concrete and run pipe over to the floor drain. I'd rather not do this due to time constraints. Thanks in advance for any help.
