Where are these places located? And, you are asking about pouring concrete. Correct? If yes, then what type of concrete is it about which you are asking, please? I'm not saying that someone will be able to give you an exact answer here, but maybe so. I don't know. However, it would help if there was a little more detail in your question. Thank you!

Mostly we charged the going rate per location(country rates were different than intercity rates)

Thank you for pointing out those things, KBC! Just to give as examples, what might be some rates around where you have worked? Let's say that it is flat work and that the square footage is 100 sq ft.

Types are along the lines of 'per bag' mixes, a typical sidewalk mix is say a 4 or 5 bag mix, driveways are like a 5-7 bag mix, etc

Even a 100 sq foot job would require? what? For forming, grading, etc

I was never content with a generic bid number per foot.

The bag mix is a rating of psi,the harder(more psi) the greater the load on the surfaces,highway concrete is a very high bag mix, for durability(and code) warehouses(typically with heavy equipment like forklifts and such) are also very high bag mixes, sidewalks on the other hand will almost never get the weight a driveway will so need less psi rating.

I got a response from a concrete contractor locally, he stated between $3.00 and $4.00 per square foot depending on many factors,including winter forming and grading.

So, since 9 square feet ='s a square yard, that means that the possible price for 1 square yard might be $27.00 - $36.00 from a local contractor near you, depending on many factors, as you have indicated.

I too, hope that this is helpful to the original poster.

Well I think you should call the concrete companies in your area for the cost per cu yd, or call some concrete finishers to see what they charge. If you do not know of anyone that finishes concrete, ask the concrete company, I am sure they will know of someone.
