    Baseboard heater problems
    Hello,

I am experiencing some issue with a baseboard heater.

It stop working after few minutes of heating, I can ear a little click. Then few minutes later I ear another click and the current is back.

To me this is the thermal fuse that cut current because it think it is too hot. But I don't feel it is too hot, I can put my hand on the heater and keep it on. What should be the cut off temperature ? Could I replace that fuse ?

Also, the thermostat that control the heater is a Aube programmable(5+2) with 4 level of heating. Sometime, when it is heating with 25%, I can ear some buzz that sound like hum noise. What could cause this noise ? No noise at 50%,75% or 100%.

As far as the thermal cutout, it can be weak and defective. It should be able to be replaced, however , the new needs to be the same part from the same manufacturer and rating exactly equal to the existing part.

As far as the buzzing from the stat, I would question the contacts used at the 25% setting. This thermostat should be replaced also, as the contacts will not get better on their own, and I am sure there is nothing to repair.
