My dog had intessuseption and had part of her intesstine removed. We are looking for a dog food or supplement that is digested quickly. Not sure if vitamins are needed also

I just don't get into such a specialized area. Perhaps my last answer when you asked back in October was a little short. I still think the best thing is to ask the vet for suggestions. In general adding vitamins and other supplements is bad. It may be the right thing in your case, but again, I would talk to your vet. Both Hills and Purina manufacture special formulations for dogs that standard chows aren't right for. Your vet should be able to help you select the one your dog will do best on.

Jm, I just read through all of your posts. I remember reading them way back when. I didn't comment because there really wasn't anything for me to add by the time I read the threads.

If you need a second opinion here, I will give it. You dog has been through a lot. I understand how frustrated and worried you are. Did you discuss this with the vet? I know you spent a lot of money on that surgery, but a follow phone call doesn't cost anything. If he did recommend a food, and it isn't as effective as you would like, you need to discuss this with the vet as labman stated. Your vet is a much more reliable source than a number of people whom you don't know, telling you what they think MIGHT work. Online, you haven't a clue who you are speaking with. I would hate to see you make a decision based upon advice given, that might be a very bad one for your dog. If you aren't happy with the advice your vet has given, I would strongly advise you to search out another vet in your area (that comes recommended by a friend, neighbor, or co-worker) and see what he/she has to say about the food.
