Just got my results about my breast lump
Well, I got my ultrasound results. The report stated that I have a benign-appearing lymph node measuring 1.2 cm. I have no other lump of any kind in my breasts or surrounding areas. I also had a CBC and was tested for lots and lots of stuff; can't remember it all, lol. Everything came back saying I am healthy.
The doctor told me to come back in a month and have it checked again. Then, as long as there are no changes, they will do another ultrasound in three months, six months, and another in a year to make sure it doesn't change. The lump actually seems to be getting smaller since I first noticed it.
The doc. Also mentioned that since I was sick when I first found the lump, it could have been swollen from that. I kept poking at it all the time and she said that maybe I kept irritating something that was already irritated and that's why it didn't go back down yet. She mentioned that swollen lymph glands may take several months to return to normal.
I went this afternoon to get a 2nd opinion, took my report with me. The other doctor is a breast specialist. I hated to pay so much, but it was worth it to me. She agreed with everything the first doctor said to me. She said that the lump was barely noticeable and that it was probably more noticeable because I'm kind of on the thin side. She agreed with going back in 3 months, etc.
Does this sound like pretty good advice that they gave me? Also I just had my annual exam, and everything was OK there too. They said if there was even the slightest change, they would remove that node. What do you guys think about it?
