Floppy drives are notorious for being junk. Could be that the light is just staying lit even though it's done reading or writing.

Consider going to a flash drive. 128MB models go for about $25.

    Hi,
When I insert a floppy disk into my floppy disk drive, the light will go off, if the disk is not being used.
You are afraid to take the disk out of the floppy disk drive?
Shut down your computer, then take the disk out; it won't hurt anything.
Boot up your computer, then see if the light still stays on.
It should not stay on, after booting up. If it does, then as rickj said, the floppy drive might be bad. If the light is off, then put a known good floppy disk in the floppy disk drive, and see if you can view the contents from My Computer. If you can't, the drive might be bad.
I do wish you the best of luck.

First, fredg you advised me to turn off or reboot my PC but what if I'm doing something that must not stop until its done like burnning... I'll have to wait for it before I can take my disk out..

Well as you said fredg I can view the files from My Computer but some times my PC hung when I try to open A:\>... does my disk damaged?

Is there anyway knowing if the disk drive is finish reading my disk instead of looking the LED..?
