    H1B Google adsense income
    Hi,

Iam on H1B Visa ,I was running a blog out hobby and it became popular .Now I have generated some income out of it through Google adsense .I have received a cheque from Google also for $200.

To my understanding Google will be sending 1099 tax form to me and to IRS for tax filing .I just couldnot make out whether I am eligible to earn this money and file the tax.

I don't want to get into complications as I am planning to file my GC.

Please suggest me some way around without any complications as my blog is really picking up.

    Appreciate some valuable asnwers.

    Thanks in advance
    Sri

I am not sure about if persons with H1-B visa can have 1099 income.
But you must report this income on your tax return Form 1040. For your 1099 income (self employed income) you will file schedule C (Form 1040) where you will report your income and this business related expenses to calculate your net income.
If this is a business activity, then your expenses can even be more than your income from this activity. But if it is a hobby, than your expenses can't exceed your income from this activity.
The net income is subject to SE tax at 15.3%, for which you will file schedule SE (Form 1040).
