Hi, I have electric heat--several zones. Yesterday I turned the bathroom thermostat way down because it was very warm. Not it doesn't seem to turn the heat on. I do have heat in other zones. It is a Cadet M411 thermostat. Any suggestions?

Check the circuit breaker for the unit first. If that is OK I would suspect the thermostat is defective. You can use a heavy wire to jump the circuit or replace the thermostat with one out of you other heaters for test purposes. Remember to turn off the electric when working on the heaters.

Thanks for the answer.. I did just check the circuit breake, and it is OK.

Did you throw the breaker all the way to off and back on? Sometimes the breaker is hard to see that it is off.

Actually I have several that say heat... and I ran my finger up and down to make sure they were in the ON position. I didn't just go by visual.
I tried the outlet on that wall an it works, and I have light in th bathroom... this is the only
Issue.?
I am ready to call an electrician...

Thanks to everyone... the electrician just left, for now.. the thermostat is fine... the baseboard went.

Cadet M 411 thermostats suck! I have them throughout my home and have had problems for years with some staying on all the time, etc. I say replace them all, but good luck - the wiring is odd as the old cadet m 411 has three wires coming off it - all replacement stats have either two or four wires and there does not seem to be an easy answer as to how to properly wire the damn things. If I sound frustrated, it is because I am experiencing this as we speak, after hours of course, and have no way to complete the task at hand. I'll call a Pro tomorrow!

It is pretty bad that Cadet has not kept information about the wiring specs for the M 411 on their site. It sure would help us upgrade our systems!!
