I'm new here and this is my first question. Can anybuddy help me solving this


When I double click on system time (system tray) the popup comes

"You do not have the proper privilege level to change the system time"

Is it some trajOn ? I've checked authentication level too. User has full administrative rights

Can anyone guide me about this problem

It's exactly what it says, you don't have administrative rights on the computer. If it's your own PC, logon with an administrative account and you can the time! If it's at work, you can inform your system's administrator to change the time.

What anti spyware and anti virus programs have you run till now?
Have you done an online scan?
Was there any virus on the computer previously?

I've installed a small network setup at my home with 4 computers including server and using it from 6 months. All 3 clients computers are in same user group and having the same rights. But only one is affected

I'm login as a admin in my computer, or even as a domain user I have full administrative rights


But still having popup like that

It was also happened once before and just got rid through formating windows but it was only for the time being. After few days its again a same problem

I've tried several antivirus like; norton, kaspersky, nod32 and also some online scans but no progression also "system restore" could not do the job

Searched on the Google and found same complains from many users but no solution yet

Please do something if possible, I don't want to format my drive again

Can you click start > click run and type in TIMEDATE.CPL and then click OK. Let us know if you get the time and date panel popping up.

sorry I'm late here...

I've tried your suggested cmd "timedate.cpl" but the same popup appears
also used Sergiwa tools, tried all tools available on the site

checked the registry & permission regarding timezoneinformation, nothing found wrong

also matched the registry values with other proper working client comp

now I'm frustated..

Here is a solution of that pop up message
"You do not have the proper privilege level to change the system time "

FIRST -> LOG IN AS LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR
SEC ->Scan with this software "XoftSpySE"
THIRD ->Scan with this software "RegCure" or "RegMacanic" For repair

Then restart your PC it will come fine

Shutdown your PC and remove your hard drive and connect to another PC and scan full drive with AVG internet Anti-virus

Run gpedit.msc

Local Computer Policy | Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security
Settings | Local Policies | User Rights Assignment

Look at "Change the System Time", which by default is applied to Power Users
And Administrators.
