Life After Birth Control?
I am 26 years old and was put on the pill at the age of 16 due to very painful and heavy periods. I am now engaged to be married next summer, and I wanted to stop taking the pill for several reasons other than that.
Now, though, I am having very very irregular cycles. First, when stopping the pill I didn't have a period for months, then had one very heavy and long cycle, bleeding for over 1 and 1/2 months before my gynecologist put me back on the pill for one month to "reset" my cycle.
After completing that round of pills I have experienced the same thing, no period again for several months and now I have been on my period going on three weeks now with no signs of lightening or stopping.
I am very worried that this is going to affect my relationship with my fiancé, and also whether this will affect my chances of getting pregnant in the future.
I have searched and searched all over for tips on what to expect when you stop taking the pill, but I can't find anything other than generic "abnormal cycles" answers. This does not seem very normal to me. Need some advice!!
