    Background check
When a background check is done by an employer prior to hiring, what shows up? Crimes committed in only that state, or every state?

    Thanks!

Depends on what type of check they do. IF they run it though the police, then any convictions you have ever done in any state will show up for those in the US.

Some employers use online bankground search firms which are not the official police background check, this may also include arrests not convicted of ( since remember these are not controlled by the laws that control police background checks)

Also who is running the search if done for a national background clearance, or for a job with the police or corrections, their background will show all arrests, convictions, explungments and more

If you have a preexisting warrant, will that show up, even if it's a traffic warrant?
