My husband and I just recently purchased a malti poo and he flew in on Friday. Since then he really has not eaten much or drank that much. Also, when we put him in his crate at night he yelps and whimpers the entire night. He stops just to get his voice back and then continues. He has food, water, toys and a soft blanket with him. What do we do to get him to eat and most of all to not whine all evening? We play a lot during the day and he takes frequent naps but we have to get him on a good routine before the new year, so I can go back to work. Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

He has been through a lot, and may not have been prepared to adjust to a new home. Many breeders fail to understand the importance of early socialization, let along know what to do. Give him plenty of love and attention. Continue to offer some of what the breeder was feeding 3 times a day, taking away the uneaten later.
