One of the first problems is the clothes take too long to dry. When I open the dryer up the heat comes right at me.

And the second problem is the dryer keeps turning off and when I press the dial. All I can hear is the timer and it won't start back up for awhile.

Check the heat discharge pipe. If it is clogged with lint it will cause this problem. Also check lint screen in dryer.
