If it like most furnaces the lower part houses the blower fan
The upper part houses the HEAT EXCHANGER and BURNERS
The pilot should be under the burners, and has small tube feeding it

Maybe the gas company will light it --- couldn't hurt to ask --- Hope this helps please rate my answer
I think down flow furnaces are more common than up flow ones. They can also be horizonal. Follow the gas pipe into the furnace. It should end at a box with the pilot controls. For directions on lighting it, see the sticky right here at AMHD, https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/heatin...tml#post284330
