I am a single mother and I would like to start dating again. I am afraid that as soon as a guy finds out that I have a kid he will run. My question is this: Can I really start dating again? My son is only 2, should I wait awhile more?:confused:

I've been married for 12 years so maybe I'm not the one to give advice, but I do have two kids and I have to tell you something that I haven't learned until recently. Love your kids, raise your kids as well as you can, but don't live only for your kids. What is the appropriate age for a child before his single mother can start dating, 5, 10, 20? I wouldn't bring a guy over to meet your child until you know that you have a future with him because you don't want your child to get attached and then disappointed if it doesn't work out, but date, date, date. You only have one life to live and you can't sit around waiting for the appropriate age, because there is no such thing. Take care of yourself and your son and find someone that you can spend your life with, because one day your son will grow up and move on and it would be nice for you to have someone to watch TV with.

There are nice guys out there, who won't run away... and who will love you and except you even with a child by your side...
