I want to finish my divorce
I had left my wife in June and tried to serve her however she avoided my summons just so that she could save up for a attorney. So she did retain an Attorney and I did not. So she had me served... we went to court for the custody and child support of our children.
Now she says she still owes her attorney more money before he helps her continue.
My question is there anything I can do to speed up the procsess myself through the court or do I have to wait for them to continue the proceedings? We live in California.

Hire an attorney ofyour own, you do not want to be in court against an attorney without one.

Had you had an attorney you would have known what to do, if she could not be found to be served, to continue ahead with the divorce anyway.

You're at the mercy of the court my friend. And if she has an attorney and you don't, guess who has the edge? Remember, judges were once lawyers themselves who made their livelihoods off clients like your soon-to-be ex. That being the case, almost any judge would rather delay the process in the interest of appeasing her attorney rather than speed it up in the interest of appeasing you.
