Trying to conceive using clomid. What chances it false positive on home pregnancy test
Hi I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now and today got my first ever positive test. On the test box though it says that sometimes clomid (fertility drug) can give a false positive. I generally have very long cycles and took clomid at the start of my cycle which was 45 days ago. I can't get a doctors app for another week and so don't want to stress that long. Please tell me the chance of it being a false positive would be nil.

The chance is small that it is a false positive as it is actually the fertilized ovum that produces the hormone hCG.

Clomid tends to give a false positive on ovulation tests though.

I don't know how old you are, but two years of infertility and you are just on Clomid? 40% of fertility issues are male factor and 40% female, the rest is overlapping. You need a medical evaluation and your partner a semen analysis. With long cycles and periods of amenorrhea (no period) it is safe to say that you are probably not ovulating at the right time if at all. Good luck in your journey and seek care.
