Migrate Outlook Express from XP to Vista
How do I migrate my Outlook Express address book and mail folders from my desktop with XP Pro to my new laptop with Vista basic? I am trying to use Windows Easy Transfer via CD.

Go into Windows Mail and select File>Import on the address book and folders. See what formats Mail accepts. Then go OE and select File>Export and choose a compatible export type.

I've done a few of these and the mail/messages part works fine but to import your contacts it's easier to find the WAB (Windows Address Book) file on the old computer and copy it to your Desktop of the new computer, then Import your contacts using the WAB file.

Thanks for your answers . I discovered that my problem was trying to use Windows Easy Transfer. Just copying the files to a CD, as you suggested, worked!
