How do magnetic curlers work?? I don't understand how the hair can stay in place if there is no clip or cover to attach over the curler...

I don't know if they are actually magnetic or not. We used clips to hold them at school.

Those other clips are meant more for doing things such as pin curls or making small sections.

You can also use perm papers to help get a grip on the hair. These rollers are meant for using on wet or damp hair and then dried under a dryer or air dried.

That's what I was intending to do.. was just wondering how to hold them on...

You take a damp section of hair. You start the roller at the ends / tips of the hair. For extra grip you can use the perm papers on the ends of the hair. You then roll the roller down the hair. Then you insert the clip on the scalp side of the roller so that what you see on the outside of the roller in the picture will be in between the roller and the scalp. If necessary you can add another clip to the other side to keep the hair from slipping off. You can also put a hairnet on.

The rollers don't magnetically grab the hair or anything like that. I think it's more a reference to anti static or something like that. Perhaps something that happens when you're under the dryer? Just guessing at that.
Who knows they could be just calling them something fancy just to avoid saying plain plastic rollers. :)
