    The first time painful?
Hi. My name is AMber. I'm a 20 year old virgin who has been with her boyfriend for two years. Neither of us have ever pressured the other to have sex and we are both virgins, but recently the possibility of us doing it came up. If we do decide to go through with it I was wondering something, My doctor told me my hymen is still intact and I was wondering how much that would affect the pain of my first time. My papsmere was was kind of painful to me, but does that automatically mean sex will be? Any thoughts anyone has would be great. Thank you.

Your first time can be a bit painful, however it isn't painful for everyone.
My first time was painful, but it isn't something to be very worried about, cause it isn't that bad.

I think all people are different so its very hard to say. Just try and make sure you are relaxed as your muscles will be tight if you are very tense.

In the moment, the painful level probably won't even be on your mind.

Thank you guys for your input. Do you think that the pain of my papsmere should be any indication of how painful it will be?

In one word no, hunn you will have been as nervous as hell having that done I would like to think you will be a lot more relaxed and excited about your first time comparing it to a smear is somewhat mad after all what's going in isn't as big as a swob and you aren't being forced open by a medical tool that's rock hard in that nasty sense.
Relax enjoy and take your time lots of play is the key and remember no ones first time is that flipping wonderful anyway there liers if they say it was.

Did your papsmere hurt? I've heard they shouldn't hurt that much.

I am curious as to how your hymen is still intact if you have had a pap smear.

During a pap the doctor inserts a speculum, which should have broken your hymen as it is typically longer than the average penis, if it did not, then the tools used to take the specimens from the cervix may have broken the hymen.

I questioned the same as J_9. I really don't remember my first time... so it couldn't have been that painful. LOL Aside from jokes.. I agree that once you're in a relaxed environment, with someone you trust, then the pain will be the last thing on your mind. Take your time.. make sure you're comfortable, and everything should be just fine.

Again thanks all for the advice. In response to the papsmear question and my hymen still being intact: OK I have turner syndrome and having that means I don't have a period. Therefore I have never had a tampon or anything inside me. When she did the paps it hurt so I had to have her stop and I suppose what she did never broke it.. I didn't actually finish it, but whatever she did at first hurt, and I figure it's because I am so small and not stretched inside from tampons or anything else.

It probably hurt so much because you've never had sex. Usually they don't hurt because the people who get them usually aren't virgins, as the purpose of them is to catch diseases or cancer that you usually would only get if you're sexually active.

I had the same problem with my pap and had to have my doctor stop, I also never used tampons, and my first time was a little painful, but not to the point I wanted to cry or anything. It really isn't something that you should stress about. But don't feel as though you two have to have sex, maybe I'm just old fashion but I wanted my husband to be my only and so as hard as it was at times I waited, just a thought... I'm not trying to change your mind or anything or push any beliefs on you.
