I live in the state of Georgia... My paycheck is being garnished due to none payment of a car I purchased. I'm upset because, I had no knowledge of the garnishment until it was removed and my company notified me. Was I suppose to be notified before or not?Confused

You would have received dozens of late payment notices, most likely on a car the car would be repo'ed, and you would have received notice of a court action sometime in the past to get a judgement.

Once they have a judgement you do not get a notice of the garnishment, they are just allowed to do that.

You are obviously aware of the debt. Were you unaware that they sued you and obtained a judgement against you?

What bothers me is your statement that you were upset about the garnishment. How upset do you think the people you bothered the money for the car were when you stopped paying them?
