    Is my husband a bigamist?
I am still legally married to my husband who bought a home with his girlfriend. If he lives with her for seven years is he a bigamist?

So do you mean he lives with her instead of you?
If so than I believe he is.

If you are still legally married then he is not a bigamist, it truly all depends on where you, he/she lives as not all states recognize common law marriage. Even so, I believe common law marriage is exempt when there is still a valid marriage license.

    He is committing adultery though.

Some states do not have common law marriages. Here you and he would still be married and she would just be his mistress or live in girlfriend.
Better to contact someone in the judicial system where lives. They should be able to tell you.

Can you be a little more specific with your post?
Do you aggree with him having a girlfriend and him living with her? Does it bother you at all?

    Hello joey:

Couple things. Even if your state recognizes common law marriage, it WON'T be conferred upon him because he's ALREADY married. Plus, to be guilty of a crime, one must commit an overt act. Just sitting there waiting for the clock to run isn't overt.

So no, he's not a bigamist.
