My boyfriend was sentenced to a year in a program... I was wondering if it was true that he could get out in 8 months if he stays on good behavior??

There is always a chance! If he shows good conduct and is good toward his jailers, there is a good chance someone in the system would vouch for him. Pastors, politicians, and important business people usually can get the courts to give an early release, if the prisioner is of good conduct!
