Sounds like the story of a fella I once worked with. He got a new job, and showed up at his ex's house one day to pick up his kids in a new Jaguar. Needless to say before he got home she was on the phone to her lawyer and hit him to the tune of 45% of his monthly gross income. Only way I know of to get a reduction is to get a lawyer and partition the courts to reduce it. Personally I don't see how a thousand a month is too much to support two children that you fathered.

If these were done in GA, GA uses a set program that determines child support by your earnings, so when you appeared in court about these, did you provide them proper earnings records

OK here's the thing a lot of the answers people give assume that you willingly gave your children up or you don't want to support them.im in the same boat.. I was ready for the whole start a familly thing but my x wasn't so keene on the idea.. but you got to love our lovely government. She got full custody and I got jipped in the a hole. My advise is get a lawyer in most cases depending on how much you make payments can be lowered. If you really want then you can fight for custody as long as you get equal custody 50% with you and 50% with her child support becomes irrelevant acause technically she has to pay also sooo. That's all I got and good luck.. and for all you people that assume we don't love our children on the basis of child support you probably aren't in the same boat.
