After the USCIS approves the petition, it sends the petition to National Visa Center for processing, prior to sending it to the embassy or consulate where your fiancé(e) will apply for a K-1 nonimmigrant visa for a fiancé(e).
By the way, please be prepared for quite a long waiting period as it currently takes about 10-12 months for fiancee's visa in the Philippines.
Yeah lawanwadee is right.. Let your fiancé do it first... file the petition for you, just prepare the picture of you together, his tickets or hotel receipts all the proofs that you really meet in person, have your birth certificate ready, intent letter to marry, and you will fill-up the form G325a you can get the forms in USCIS Home Page, also for 129F form, also the instructions is there... it will take 2 months for the approval of 129F and they will forward it to the embassy in manila.. You will receive a letter from the embassy in manila after 3-4 months, they will give you a prepacket and you have to wait another 4 months for your medical and interview after that if there is really no problem you will receive your visa after 1 week or more. I am also a filipina married now with an American and got pregnant while in the Philippines and applied a US citizenship for my daughter.
Hi, I'm new here... was interviewed at US embassy June 4, 2008 and then I paid the delbros delivery... my question is that how come I don't received my passport and visa yet? Its been 9 working days already since my interview? My fiancé called the US embassy call center and the agent told him that no problems with my papers, and its on the consular table... ive known somebody who was interviewed for fiancée visa June 12, 2008 and she received her visa June 17, 2008... its not fair... please answer me... its so frustrating...
You don't have to worry you will receive your visa soon.. just wait.. maybe the consular officer who will approve your visa has lots of file to approved.. just wait as long as they didn't tell you that there is a problem you will receive your visa soon... if you haven't had your seminar from the CFO then have it while waiting for your visa so as if your visa is ready you have to go back for the sticker only. Just relax I know your anxious... You can also track your visa tru delbros website because as soon as they have your visa they will put that in their database for you to check in advance. Hope this would ease you. Goodluck!
Received my VISA today... yeheyyy, I'm so happy... im going to cebu to have the cfo seminar by Monday... and then by Thursday, June 26, 2008 is my flight to san francisco... finally, il be in his arms... il be united with my honey again... were planning to get married on August 9... for those who are still waiting for their visa... just have more patience... and PRAY...
I am so happy for you :) Good luck! And welcome here in the United States soon.
Document, document, document. Obviously, the first step would be to meet in person within two years of filing the petition, as that is a requirement of the USCIS. When you do meet, take lots of pictures, of both of you together, as well as with other people, such as family members. But you should also be able to prove the relationship's existence before the meeting. For example, you "met" somehow, perhaps online, perhaps on vacation. However that happened, find evidence of your acquaintance from as far back as you can, and keep it! It will come in handy one day, believe me, as it did for my husband and me. We met online, and I had the presence of mind to archive our conversations from Day 1. Actually, in the beginning, I archived only because of my packrat habits of keeping EVERYTHING. But after some time, they became my keepsakes. And eventually, they were the proof we needed to establish the duration of our acquaintance. Our relationship was never questioned because I had so much documentation, chats, screen shots, plane ticket, pictures, etc. When our first immigration interview came up (for adjusting status from K1 to green card), the lady sat down with us and immediately took that holier-than-thou attitude with us, that "you are frauds" attitude. When she saw my husband entered on a K1, her attitude changed completely, as she realized we had already proved our relationship! I hate to report to you that our process took only six months, but then again we had an awesome attorney (I can refer you, if you'd like). My husband and I had a long list of potential roadblocks, a lot of red flags. Age difference; I have kids--he does not; I was divorced--he was never married; his status in the country he was living in was in question; etc. Despite all these brick walls, our attorney anticipated every twist and turn in our case, and had him here in the US, physically, six months from the time we applied! I don't know whether a person's nationality makes a difference in processing times or not.Quote:
