I have been on 20mg of Celexa for like 5 months now and was doing great... until the weight gain started!! 20 pounds in 3 months!

Has anyone else had this problem? I had all my blood work done last week and it is all perfect!

Has your diet changed during these winter months?

I am on 20mg Citalopram (Celexa) and my only questionable weight gain would be from my Depakote and eating more 'sugary' type things.

Keep posting on this thread, I am interested in what responses you might get too!:)

I am on thyroid medicine, but my blood work showed that my thyroid levels were normal. My diet is pretty much the same as it was before, I think the only difference was that my husband went on night work so I haven't been to the gym for that time. But I also have 3 small sons, so they keep me busy! :)

I did some googleing and there were people that said they did put on weight with it. But I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.

Typically a side effect of Celexa is actually anorexia, which ends up with weight LOSS not weight gain.

The thyroid med you are on... what is it please? For Hypo or Hyperthyroid?

I take synthroid. 25 mg. But my blood work came back fine.
