I am exploring the possibility of painting the interior of my wood burning fireplace
Does anyone have experience in this, and if so what type and color of paint would you recommend? Any help is appreciated.

Heat resistant paint for certain. Prep and clean up could be equally important. A good bond will likely require sanded and primed surfaces. Have you looked at any products at your local hardware store?

I george, this past summer, I repainted the outside of a wood burning insert and I've been sorry every since, when it get good and warm the smell is really bad, seems to get that way every time I build a good fire. I used spray flat black heat resistant paint only on the outside and wish I had just left it alone, makes me not want to start a fire. Good luck on anything you decide, but can I ask why would you want to paint the inside?

I have explored a fire resistant paint, but have not been told to sand and prime the area
First. I have not as yet looked locally for paint. I am trying to get as much information as possible before venturing into this area. Your info helps me for which I do appreciate. Thanks for you advice.

Is there a stove shop/installer in your area that could offer advice? They may have experience with these type repairs. Have you tried Google for stove/high heat paint?
