To access the drain in a second floor bath I had to break a hole in 3" thick concrete slab which is under the tiling on the floor. The hole is 5"x12" and opens onto the hollow between the first floor ceiling and the bathroom floor. What would be the best way to patch this hole without preventing future access to the piping? Thanks.

If the hole's out of sight why patch it at all? If you have trouble in the future it makes a great access hole to your drainage. Regards, Tom

The hole is visible and doesn't look good at all. The reason I wanted to have access was to clean out the trap and drain. The house is about 90 years old and the drain and trap (an old cylindrical thing) from the clawfoot tub is starting to get narrow due to accumulation of gunk over the years. Do you have any solutions for that? Rotorooter? Thanks for any help you can give me.
