When my mom was younger... she had two miscarriages before she had me and my sister. Because she had miscarriages is there a higher percent that I will have them too?

I doubt it.
Nope not really. Miscarriages happen for many many reasons, many of which are unknown. If you are in your child bearing years, I would suggest you take a multivitamin that contains folic acid to help reduce the chances of miscarriage and neural tube defects.
Thanks.. I never knew why my mom miscarried. BUt I was always worried that it would affect me and my sister's concieving
Most women do not know why they miscarry, heck most of the doctors don't know why women miscarry. Usually it is because of a genetic anomaly wherein the fetus (baby) is not able to continue through the pregnancy.
If you have concerns, and are ready to try, you can consult a genetic counselor who will help you determine possibly why this happened and whether it will happen to you.
