How to eliminate or lessen medium ash brown semi-permanent color that is over HL & LL
Previously I had Medium brown hair with bleach highlights and lowlights throughout to blend and make more natural looking. Last night I asked my stylist if we could start not having as many highlights, because school is crazy and I don't really have the time to be coming in every 6 weeks. He proceeded to put about 10 - 15 bleach foils on my head and then while the foils were on he put a semi-permanent hair color over the rest of my hair. My hair now has a few bleached highlights, no lowlights and the rest is medium brown hair. I called my stylist, but he is out of town for the next week. The person on the phone said to just was my hair. Is there a way to wash my hair to get my lowlights back? Or at least a way I don't have a head of medium brown hair with a few highlights for the next week? I saw the Prell suggestion, but didn't know if it would work for semi-permanent color or not... any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Sweetie, a semi-permanent color washes out in 6 to 12 shampoos. However, some semi-permanent colors may last longer on blonde hair or porous hair. There are many ways to help remove semi-permanent colors. You can use a clarifying shampoo, Prell, dandruff shampoo or dish detergent to help remove the color quickly. If the color doesn't wash out, you may need to use a hair color remover designed to remove semi-permanent hair color.

Pretty Lady, that you are a professional and willing to share your knowledge to help all of us is such a beautiful thing... and being willing to help us fix our messed up hair color when we have no one to turn is such a blessing... right now I am trying the clarifying shampoo, if that doesn't work I have the standby dandruff shampoo, hot oil, and dish detergent. Thank you, you are an angel!
