    Removing lavatory drain
We are trying to replace the lavatory pop up drain. I have loosened but cannot remove the nut securing the old lavatory pop up body. Any help?

WD-40 make help you get it loose... if not try tapping VERY gentle with a hammer and flat head screw driver... if you can jam a screwdriver into the top of the drain it may hold so that the nut comes loose... good luck

Dontcha just hate it when that happens? If Plumbermans solutions don't work take a hacksaw blade and wrap some duct tape around it for a handle and saw that sucker out. Good luck, Tom

Both are great suggestions. When Speedball1 suggests using a hack saw he wants you to cut the nut apart, not the drain. Other thought would be to hit the nut with a propane torch for about 5 seconds and allow to cool. If that doesn't work try 10 seconds followed by a glass of cold water.

Thanks--I used the hack saw method-it worked fine. Rich
